Top 5 Reasons You Should be Drinking Lemon Water…especially in the morning

Every morning I start my day the same way.  With a glass of warm lemon water.

A healthy start to your morning will get your day off to the right start.

A simple first step towards a more healthy body is drinking lemon water in the morning, preferably warm and on an empty stomach so it can begin doing it’s thing without competing with digesting food.

If you can wait 10-15 minutes before starting your breakfast, that’s great. If not, don’t worry, the lemon water can still start working its magic.

It wakes up your organs, aids in digestion, is packed with Vitamin C, keeps skin glowing, and helps reduce hunger.

If you are a coffee drinker, just drink your lemon water first.

Making lemon water is easy and economical! Simply squeeze the juice of half a lemon in lukewarm water and….drink it! Add a teaspoon of raw honey to cut the tartness.

An alternative to squeezing a lemon is adding one drop of organic lemon essential oil (like this one) to your lukewarm water. (Always choose organic oils when applying to the skin or ingesting.)

To make squeezing the lemon less of a hassle, buy a lemon squeezer (like this one). It will save you SO much time!

When you are traveling and don’t have access to lemons, still start your day with lukewarm water to wake up your organs and hydrate your body.

 

How to Protect Your Teeth from Acidity

Drinking through a straw will prevent acids from the lemon from damaging tooth enamel.  This is very important.  A straw will help bypass your teeth.

They are rust proof, dishwasher safe, come with a cleaning brush, can be re-used and best of all, you will not be exposed to chemicals in plastic as you drink your beverages!

You will be using these everyday, or at least a few times a week, so investing in these inexpensive straws is worth it. I always use a stainless steel straw!

 Also to protect your teeth from acidity, brush your teeth before drinking the lemon water.

Never ever brush your teeth right after! If you really want to brush your teeth after the lemon water, wait for an hour to protect your teeth.
